Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this company. I wrote this review years ago but was asked to take it down. I have decided that I was treated unfairly and that I should not have let go so easily. When my husband and I came to Rodan to choose my Verragio ring we were told to go a size down but order in a 5.5 "large" at the suggestion of the owner. As this was also an option rather than order the larger size that I thought felt fit more comfortably. When my husband purposed 2 months later the ring was too small. I was a touch embarrassed by it so rather than take it in I just tried to lose weight which ended with failed attempts. I realize this was stupid but at the time I was just excited about the ring and being engaged. I didn't want to make a fuss. So a couple months later I realized I should have said something and I had my husband bring the ring in to discuss options on his way home from work. It turned out that when the ring was ordered there was no inclusion of the "large" in the order and the ring was actually smaller than it should be (only 5.5). I received a text from my husband telling me they were taking it to the back of the store to fix it. Immediately I freaked out and told him that the ring was not meant to be stretched that much as it has a very ornate band and it would damage the integrity of the ring. It was too late. I feel there was negligence in both the employee and the jeweler/goldsmith in this instance. There is no way this ring should have so hastily been stretched. I have forever been regretful that I did not go with my husband that day because I never would have let it happen. My husband was just naive and did not realize that it would change the shape of the band the way it did. Once the damage was done, my husband returned at a later date with the stretched ring and the goldsmith was exceptionally rude, yelling from behind the glass. It was very unprofessional. It was extremely uncomfortable and made us feel terrible when in fact the ring was actually ordered wrong, as the "large" was not included (which I confirmed with Verragio) and the goldsmith should know better than to simply stretch a ring with a band that ornate. The owner then sent the ring to Verragio and it has been deemed structurally sound and still held enough of its original shape to be considered a fair enough representation of a Verragio ring. However some spots are no longer symmetrical and the curves are so narrow it is almost impossible to get anything through them. I used to be able to put a regular sewing needle through some of the spots and even that will not fit now. In fact some of the spots that were once open on the ring are now complete closed in. Which I have pictures to prove. We are not wealthy people. My fiance had to save for this. We would never be able to afford a ring like this again. This was my dream ring. It seriously breaks my heart knowing that something like this could happen. We were offered no compensation. No further contact. I was so concerned about keeping warranties for the diamond in place that I just gave up and left it alone. But in the end I have been too upset and uncomfortable since the whole ordeal that I have never been back to get the claws checked with them anyways and I have to go to have it done at my own cost somewhere else. We have not purchased wedding bands yet but I would not purchase here or recommend this location to anyone looking for Verragio products. I would certainly look elsewhere in the lower mainland. Perhaps if more had been done considering the order was placed wrong in the first place, this would not have come to such hard feelings. Instead I have sat silent for all these years hurt and upset about the damage done to my ring with nowhere to turn. It's unfortunate because I plan on passing this ring down in my family and it's such a shame that this has marred it for us. If the ring was ordered correctly it would have never ended up being streched. I feel like we hit negligence at 3 different levels here and we were just cast aside like it was no big deal. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it now as they refuse to order the ring in the correct 5.5 large. I will forever be regretful for purchasing from this retailer. They certainly do not hold up to an industry standard. This is my once in a lifetime piece of jewellery after all.
