Bad service | by Ricardo Marzoratti on Aug 13, 2020
This is not a place for you to bring your bike for repairs or anything else for that matter. I wouldn't let them touch my worst enemy's childhood tricycle. They do not know how to do a proper alignment of wheels, they do not care if they damage brand new accessories and/or bike pieces and they do not know how to properly install brakes. On the 31st July 2020, at 10 a.m., I rode my 1986 Campione del Mundo BIANCHI vintage bike to Oberson Brossard, along with new Vittoria Corsa G2 tires, a new bar tape, a new saddle and a pair of NOS gum rubber brake lever hoods. All of those waiting to be installed on my bike. Everything was still in the box, new and unused. I was told that installing everything would take 20 mins top, it took TWO hours. Already one of the gum rubber brake levers was broken, this was an original vintage piece in top condition before entering the shop. They charged me 80.20$ for the service, and minutes later, mounting my bike literally in front of the shop, it stopped. The alignment of the rear wheel was so badly done that it got stuck in the frame. I had to pick my bike and walk to the shop. After "repairing" it, they gave me back my bike and the new-from-the-box handlebar tape (which is white) was soiled with black grease, upon giving me my bike and seeing the condition it was given to me the middle-aged bike seller told me "En tout cas, je l'aurais pas prit en blanc". Now, as infuriating as this may be, I actually couldn't complain about it, because I was late for work and came to the shop riding my bike. Later that day, I came back to express my disappointment. They did not apologize, but they did clean the mess over the handlebar tape. And I thought that was the end of it. Fast forward, to exactly a week later, August 7, after a single 3-hour ride, I realize there's something wrong with my rear wheel. Turns out not only the alignment of my rear wheel is once again crooked and wasting my 70$ new tire for no good reason, but the rear brake was so poorly installed that it was biting into the tire instead of biting into the rim, wasting once again my new tire and giving it a nasty look. Now, I'm 150.2$ short (80.20$ for the "service" and 70$ for my poor damaged tire, without putting into account my brake lever hoods) I did not want them to touch my bike again, so I learned how to fix it myself. Honestly, all it took was a little bit of patience and proper care, something Oberson Brossard is obviously incapable of, but apparently an amateur, like myself, is. TO THE OWNER: Are you proud of the service I've been given? If you don't believe my story please go check in your records and cams, I was there, and I was given bad service. Please, do something about it.
