In for an oil change, out with a broken power steering hose | by Kyla Duane on Feb 26, 2019
I went in for an oil change and left with a busted power steering hose !! No attempt to was made to make it right when I called. The man was actually very rude! When driving home I noticed a weird smell. Assumed it was just spilled oil. By the time I got home my car was making a strange noise. I opened the hood and saw fluid splashed everywhere inside. I checked the oil level first. It was good. I was confused and when I started my car again and saw fluid coming out of the power steering line. The actual power steering reservoir was out of place. It wasn't sitting correctly and wasn't completely vertical. I called. The man said it was probably due normal wear and age. Total load of crap. I asked calmly if perhaps someone accidentally did something. He said no. Obviously something happened! My car was fine when I took it to Canadian Tire. No weird smell. No noise. And as proof, the mechanics did not mention it. It would have been apparent when they started my car! Either when they drove it in or when they started it after the oil change to circulate the oil. I am very, very upset. They literally broke my car. So unprofessional and cowardly to damage a vehicle and not admit it and not fix it. If it happened to them they would expect the same as I do. My mum needs me to drive her for her surgery and now I can't. I can't even keep her company after the surgery! I was laid off from my job and have no money to fix what they broke. My boyfriend relies on me to drive him to and from his two jobs. This is the only vehicle we have. I can't believe that the man from the auto department had the nerve to basically tell me that it is my problem. I am in tears. I trusted you Kyla Duane
