Galeries d'Anjou, a shopping centre located in the Anjou borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is one of the biggest malls in East Montreal. The centre offers 1.1 million square feet of the retail space and is visited by over eight million shoppers per year. Galeries d’Anjou is located at the intersection of Highways 40 and 25 on the Boulevard des Galeries d'Anjou about 20 minutes drive east of downtown. Galeries d'Anjou is co-owned by The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited and Ivanhoe Cambridge.
The centre was opened in 1968 and since then underwent few renovations and expansions. In fall 2011 the shopping centre underwent a major, $86-million expansion and redevelopment, including a new, two-level 100,000-square-foot Simons department store and an extensively renovated Bay store. The renovation included a total makeover of common areas and a new food court and was completed in fall 2013. Galeries d'Anjou offers a large free parking lot for about 5,135 automobiles. Shoppers can also use a public transport to get to the shopping centre. From metro station Radisson bus #44 goes to des Galeries d’Anjou blvd. From metro station Jean-Talon bus #95 goes to des Galeries d’Anjou blvd. From metro station St-Michel bus #141 goes in front of La Baie. And finally from Dorval terminus bus #460 goes on the corner of Jean-Talon street & des Galeries d’Anjou blvd.
