I was there to check my lotto tickets today. I witnessed the woman working there refuse to cash out an elderly lady because she was not buying lotto tickets. She told her to go cash herself out at the self serve check out. There was absolutely no line up st the lotto and line up galore otherwise. I questioned why she didn’t cash out the lady. She said it’s company policy. I see elderly people all the time and many other customers buying groceries there. What has happened to customer service and just plain common decency ? If this is a policy it should be changed. Our previous seniors should not be forced to use self check out if they don’t want to. Such a lack of respect !!

They are up the street from us we tend to go there most. In the last few years they have gotten so much worse for quality and service! Atleast 50% of the "fresh" produce is rotten or undesirable in the very least! rotten apples, berries and other fruit that rot within a day or two of buying them. Woody celery and squash. Crushed up icecream cones. Stuff that goes bad well before the expiry date...and the list goes on. Anyone who shops at metro knows that it's not a bargain store by any means....so why are we getting bargain store quality. I personally think that the newest store manager has something to do with it! Corners are being cut and the customers are lying for it! Og and gotta love the lifers that work there that never know anything! IRS always ' not my dept' or ' i,'m not sure! So sickened ! I think gonna take my money down to loblaws!
