Golden Mile Plaza is a shopping centre in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located along Eglinton Avenue East, east of Victoria Park Avenue. It was originally part of a larger industrial area that was developed after World War II. The mall has 29 stores and restaurants, as well as a future redevelopment plan that will transform the site into a mixed-use community. Golden Mile Plaza is located at 1880 Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, M1L 2L11. It is situated in the Golden Mile neighbourhood of Scarborough, which was named after the Golden Mile in London, England. The mall is easily accessible by car, bus, or subway. The mall has parking for over 1,600 cars. The mall opened in 1989 as Golden Mile Shopping Centre with three anchor stores: Woolworths, Target, and Best & Less. It also featured a food court, a cinema complex, and a monorail station that connected the mall to Jupiters Hotel and Casino. In 2003, the mall underwent a major redevelopment that added more retail space, a new facade, and a new logo. In 2015, the mall was sold to Choice Properties REIT and The Daniels Corporation for $103.5 million. In 2021, the mall announced its redevelopment plan that will create a new mixed-use community with residential, retail, office, and public spaces.
