The Grantham Plaza store has been my go-to neighbourhood grocery store for over 19 years, even before it became a Sobeys. The treatment I received yesterday caused by a paranoid woman was completely unnecessary and could have been handled more professionally. I entered an aisle (going in the proper direction) to pick up one pack of toilet paper which was within steps of the beginning of the aisle. With only one more purchase to make, which was behind me, I turned my cart around to exit the aisle and retrieve the item, when I was met by an aggressive, paranoid woman in full protective gear. I completely understand some people are overly paranoid and find our current situation difficult to cope. But to physically block me, shout at me and shout for assistance was quite frankly ignorant and unnecessary. I had just finished walking up several other aisles where many others were walking against me in the wrong direction. I choose to handle this by politely moving to the side to allow them to pass. To the staff member who was stocking the wine aisle who came to this woman's aid...to feed into her panic and make me walk down the entire aisle to make a point was rude. You should have handled that better. Asking her to back up slightly to allow me to exit the aisle would have been a kinder choice. If you are going to make directional shopping this cut throat, you have to 'police' all aisles OR you can not feed into the paranoia and side with the paranoid over your kind shoppers.
