Terrible experience. I wish I had never walked into this store, much less wasted $40. I went to Adere in August to have a ring resized. The customer service staff suggested an incorrect size, so my ring was returned still too big for my finger. As I was recovering from surgery, I had someone else pick it up for me, so I paid for it in full before trying it on (big mistake!). Once I did, I realized that it was too large and I called Adere to discuss the issue. I was told I could bring it back to have resized properly free of charge. Turns out, this was not the case. When I brought it back in a second time, I was AGAIN unknowingly advised an incorrect size. The only upside of this error is that I was advised the exact same size as the first time (though I did not know this), so no changes were made. This is lucky, because upon arriving to collect my ring the second time, the owner told me that if a second resizing had occurred, he would have charged me a second time! To add insult to injury, the owner then refused to return my ring without me submitting the envelope chit that I had not been previously advised was necessary to receive my item back (it simply looks like a business card with the store info). Although I had multiple pieces of ID and a phone number that could corroborate my identity, the owner still refused to return my property until I brought back the envelope chit, which again, no one had told me I needed to bring back. Thanks to abysmal communication on behalf of the owner and his customer service people who clearly are not trained, I will absolutely NEVER again will use this jewellery store for any purchases or item care.
