I am a long time customer of the Markham Woodside store. I have had very few complaints over more than 30 years of shopping at this location. I have already discussed my issue with Tony, the Manager of your Produce Department, but have not received a reply to my previous email. As background, Okra is a very delicate vegetable that rots and molds very quickly. It must, there fore, be handled appropriately. Using the composite tray taints the flavour of the vegetable and, even when transferred to appropriate containers, manages to acquire taste from the material in which it is packed. Tony told me that he would ensure that the product would be openly displayed, similar to the manner in which many of the mushrooms are displayed, but I have yet to encounter this approach. On only one of my recent shopping excursions the Okra was packaged on plastic trays, which seemed to work, and makes me wonder why this method has not been repeated. I would welcome a response. Okra is a well liked vegetable in our household, but I will not purchase it under present conditions. I look forward to the proper handling of this particular produce.
