I've been going to these guys for, oh... I'd say over 8 years. They used to be in a small booth in the aisle in the same location, but have a slightly larger space now in a regular unit on the 2nd floor of Pacific Mall. I just saw them today, for a broken SIM card tray (pop out style - Samsung). The Sim was stuck in the phone and because I had trouble locating their number, I went to my mobile carrier's store. The tech guy started to work on it, and immediately I stopped him after I could see he was clearly going to incur more damage to the phone and obviously, since it's the carrier.. he's going to shrug his shoulders and I'll eat the cost. I went to my guys, was told to come back in 20 minutes, came back and it was done. 45 bucks. Had some Pho. Bought a tee shirt.. Headed home. So... Just to summarize: 1.They know exactly what they're doing. 2.They are extremely knowledgeable. 3. They quote a price, and have never gone above it, unless they've told you before starting the work that there may be more damage, but that can only be determined once they're half way through. And if so, it'll cost this much more. No surprises. No bullshit. 4. They're extremely fast - none of this "Come back in 2 hours", and when you return, it's "ermm.. Gimme another 3 hours". 5. They've always charged me less than anywhere else. 6. I trust these guys better than any manufacturer's official dealer or service place. 7. They are very patient, because I ask stupid questions, explain things clearly, and in a way that makes sense. They don't try to sell any product or service and give honest opinions on things. (For example, I was all Gung Ho a few years ago about the Asus Zenphone, which seemed to be great value for what it cost. I was about to buy it, but asked these guys..and was told it was a great phone... But it would cost a lot if anything went wrong. This is because its a rare phone and won't be that commonly used here. As such, parts will be expensive, hard to locate and may have to be shipped in. I would never have thought of that.... So... Stop wasting your time and effort going to all these other idiots in the city that don't know what the hell they're doing, use the wrong tools, half the time damage your phone more and then act like that was already there and they did nothing wrong. In addition, since they paying franchise fees, or in a nice shiny building, their overheads will be downloaded to you in their repair costs. I've seen negative reviews about places in Pacific Mall. I can't speak for the rest of the mall or other peoples' experience, but I've never had an issue with any service or product I've purchased from Pacific Mall. You get what you pay for. When I was there, some couple asked the same question three times and got the same answer and still acted like the repair guys had somehow made it difficult for them because they're just cheap or were annoyed to have to go to some effort for something. Don't go anywhere but here if you have an issue with any mobile device hardware (or software... I guess...) of any kind. I love these guys.
