I paid $120+ for a watch and was given a scratched and used watch | by Esther on Jun 21, 2019
I was naive to think that I could take my eyes off of the employee and trust them to give me the brand new model of the watch (cost $120+) I had paid for. I guess it is kind of obvious to watch the employee the entire time so there isn't any funny business happening but I'm still shocked and disappointed it did happen. I never would have expected it because I had a wonderful shopping experience. The employee who helped me, from start to finish, was a very kind and patient woman. And after the whole searching process to find the right watch, someone I thought I could trust. It's sad really because it wasn't until I got home and tried on the watch that I realized that I had taken a used and scratched version and not a brand new one. It was pretty obvious that it wasn't new since it already had several scuffs and scratch marks on the front and back of the watch and it wouldn't surprise me if it was the in-store display watch that I had tried on earlier. During the whole time there, I was never informed that I would be buying a used watch, I had assumed I would be given a brand new one as it is a common practice of most stores. If I had known, I would have never bought the watch to begin with, but maybe that was the point. I do realize that this is my fault and regret not being more aware at the time. But I also think this is an inappropriate way for a business to operate and treat its customers, especially if you're spending a decent amount of money. Nevertheless, I will not be giving any more business with this store or brand. To anyone who reads this, I hope you will learn from my mistake and heed my warning. Be wary and careful!
