Unqualified management and sales clerk. | by Disapointed on Feb 22, 2021
Asked a sales clerk to hold an item that I would immediately travel a considerable distant to purchase. The clerk said he had the item in hand. When I arrived he confirmed that he was speaking with me on the phone and then told me that he sold it to someone else. I complained to management which brushed it off as no big deal.
Great Selection, Borderline Associate Harassment | by Anonymous Person(s) on Oct 18, 2018
Beautiful store, with a fantastic selection on various bed, bath, kitchen, and dining pieces. When we first walked in we were greeted by an associate who offered us a complementary cappuccino, or late. We both asked for one, and began to browse the selection they had in their entrance. An associate approached my partner, and asked a number of random questions, while continuing to repeat "we have some nice stuff here", I looked over at my partner and the associate was staring at a wall for a few moments while talking to my spouse. After our drinks were ready, the associate brought them to us, and began to ask some introductory questions; "Is this your first time at a linen chest", "what are you looking for", "What are you looking at getting tonight". Nothing out of the ordinary. We mentioned it was our first time, and we were just browsing. The associate accepted our answer and told us if we had any questions, to ask her. We continued browsing. Next another associate approached us, and asked the same three questions "Is this your first time at linen chest" "What are you looking for" "what are you looking at getting tonight? We answered the same, except the person pressed, asking further questions to discover our needs. He was nice enough, and I could tell that he had good intentions, however we just wanted to browse the store, and possibly make a purchase the next day. After talking with this associate for about 5 minutes, he left us alone. We walked into the linen section, and after browsing for all of 3-4 minutes you guessed it. Another associate approached us and asked the exact same questions as the two before. We answered, and she began asking very personal questions, what area we lived in, if we were married, etc... I answered her questions, hoping for her to leave us alone, and yet she pressed; asking more questions. After awhile she began to suggest random things for us to look at, without asking us our style or color preference. This associate spent the next 25 minutes following us around, asking if we would like more coffee, and suggesting random things which we happened to glance in the direction of. At one point my partner looked at a bed and wanted to feel the mattress, and this associate asked us what kind of bed we had, if we were shopping for a bed, and what our "favorite mattresses were". Then they passively forced us to lay on said bed because we "had to feel it" they then began to list off all of the features, and proceeded to try and sell us on the bed, until I said for the 3rd time that we were not looking to purchase a new mattress. Despite the numerous times we said we would like to browse on our own, this associate continued to follow us, and essentially attempt to harass us into purchasing something. It took us out of the buying mood completely, and even though there were good sales on items we wanted, we didn't get to look at them because this associate was telling us to look at random things we had no interest in. It left a sour taste in my and my partners mouth when leaving. I'm not sure what type of commission these associates get, but they wont be making any off me if they continue to badger me into attempting to buy something. My Recommendation; Go when it is very busy, associates will be wrapped up with others, and hopefully not harass you.
