You must move the floral section away from the produce fruit sections as ripe food gives off ethylene gas which lessens the life of the flowers. Also wholesale flower vendors knowing that flowers will go to retail grocery stores will sometimes deliver old flowers that look because they were refrigerated and when they are put out in a grocery store the flowers wilt in a few days. Flowers should last two to three weeks, sometimes four weeks.
