Rude and Helpless Cashier | by  on Nov 29, 2018

I shop here almost every week. No problem at all. But today ( 29/11/18 at 12:32:00 under card number, on the bottom of the receipt : 2018-11-29 12:32:06 , 000822 03 2008300, 0730 ( I'm sure you can find the cashier in-charged at that moment by looking at the copy receipt ) there were 2 older woman cashier in- charge. One of them doesn't have a friendly face. Looking at me like mad ( I know maybe she is tired ). I got it, it's almost christmas time. She was very cold and didn't take time for every customer..look so impatient when she wait for my answer whether I need a plastic bag or not. And 1 of my most expensive item I "almost" bought didn't have a price tag..she didn't help to find out for the price. She said very rudely voice and manner that she can't scan it without a tag.. her hand bang on the counter with open palms...that's it. So I had to cancel it. I could say something but I hold my tounge. She made me scared and mad at the same time. Back home I checked her name on the receipt but there's nothing. I should've find out her name. You should fire this kindda person or simply don't put her in thatì position .

Why do I have to line up twice?? | by  on Sep 07, 2018

To reach the snack aisle beside the checkout (which has small snack bags for $1.25), you have to first get in line, get to the snack aisle, STEP OUT of line, reach for your snacks which are way in the corner and hard to get to, then go back to the END of the line and go through it again. There is no other way, except to ask the person behind you in line to "wait until I get my snacks", which might take half a minute or so if you are not sure what you want. You may have to "rummage," not just quickly grab . This holds up the entire line, and you have to put up with dirty looks and grumbles from people. (This has happened to me.) It makes for very pressured and VERY uncomfortable shopping. You should not have to stand in line twice for a few little bags of chips, but to ask someone behind you to wait just as his turn is opening up and holding up everyone else is just NUTS. The cashiers are mad and don't want to hear about it and won't address it, the customers are mad, and everyone has a frustrating experience with rolled eyes and glaring. Even worse, several times there has been a heavy wheeled cart (NOT a shopping cart, one from the store) full of cases of pop parked right in the entrance to the snack bags, so you have to try to wheel it out of the way, right where the lineup is. That store used to be beautiful, open, the checkouts attractive and accessible. WHAT HAPPENED? Why must it be re-designed like a cattle chute, ugly and oppressive, and with a lot of things only available as you leave the store in the lineup? It is awkward at best. I don't know whose idea this was, but it has ruined Dollarama for me and I won't be going back. I suppose someone did a study and it said you can "process" more people this way, but the store has lost every bit of appeal it used to have.

They gladly steal your money when you make a mistake. | by  on Dec 27, 2017

Bought 5 of the same item, it was the wrong size wanted to exchange for the right size, they just refuse to change for the right size. I told them that it was too big and it wouldn't fit and so I can't use it. They just said it is too bad that the store policy is no exchange at all, too bad. I said it is no use to me as it won't fit, i left them items at counter as I can't use something that doesn't fit. The customer service person just grab the items and returned it to be resold again. This is very bad customer good will. I have been in customer service all my life an have never seen any company treat customers so badly. It is the Christmas season and even though it might be store policy, it wouldn't put a big dent in the company's profits if they just show a little flexibility. After all I was not asking for my money back , just to change it for the right size so that I can use it and it is not something useless. I am a person on limited income, that why I shop at the dollar store, but from now on I will never shop at dollarama any more. I can't even rate your store as you deserved zero stars.
