Bad Health Pharmacy Services | by Sharon Lewis on Nov 08, 2020
I went into the pharmacy, Duncan BC Thrifty's and I was buying an over the counter medication and pharmacist asked me "what is your phone number and address, you moved right"? I asked excuse me? I am buying an over the counter medication, what does that have to do with my address? She said "your son's doctor phoned me, is with-holding his prescription medication until we get your new phone number and address". I asked her "I have lived right across this country and this is the only place where I feel like I am under communism, you have to know everything about me, other Provinces cover all my medication but not British Columbia, you treat me so badly, other Provinces treat me good except you, you want my updated phone number and address for my buying my own medication, because my son's doctor wants it"..."Oh, is it because I didn't recognize his nurse without his mask on, he is lucky I didn't charge him for screaming at me for 20 minutes for no reason"..."you tell the doctor I could have charged his nurse for chasing me screaming at me"..."I am not giving you my updated address and phone number for my son's doctor, I lived across this country, and other Provinces don't hurt their patients like they do here, or make up phony illnesses or diseases to put native people on hard pharma drugs like they do in Duncan, don't you dare ask me for my phone number and address, do not threaten me"..."cut off my son's medication, is he suppose to be on those kinds of med's"??? "the only crazy people here are the health care people treating native people like were all suppose to be on some kind of drugs and abusing us"..."no your not getting it"..."tell the doctor he can ask himself"..."diagnosing natives like were all crazy, you guys are mad for money, not native people"...I was treated with serious intrusion, 3rd party intrusion. I do not like Thrifty's Pharma Care; they are highly abusive and intrusive and don't provide me proper pharma care and dare to ask me my new address? Its time for health care service providers to recognize that they treat native people with serious discrimination; natives are not living under community jails here in BC. Racism is Systemic in Cowichan Valley, and it sits on the largest reserve of Canada. Health care service racism must stop. That was seriously crazy, I had a crazy experience here from health care service providers; especially at Thrifty's pharmacy. They told me I could not go anywhere else for pharma med's...only there, I cannot hop around to get my prescriptions? OMG, nobody else does that, only in Duncan, BC. That is Thrifty's..taking my business and money else where now. Good Bye Thrifty's Pharmacare; the doctors do not provide you services, your customers do??? Got it...
