Unexpected Long Delay at Checkout | by Stanley Bell on Oct 29, 2020
Around 1:15 pm the afternoon I shopped at your store. I was wearing a mask and trying to abide by your Covid regimen. I collected my items and rounded the corner to the east wall of your store, and to my surprise found a line of about 10 customers, ahead of me. The line was moving very slowly, about one space every 5 minutes. I wondered if I should dump my selections and walk out but decided to be patient. As I slowly progressed up the line, I became away that only one of the check-outs was in operation, and I thought then, can’t they see that there is a long line of customers waiting ? Then as I slowly made my way up the line, I discovered that the ONE check-out lady was “ In Training “ She was slowly processing patient customers while being instructed by her supervisor. I groaned, as did those patient customers near me in line. Finally, the lady who appeared to be the supervisor, shut down her trainee and took over the check-out to the left of the line, after “Disinfecting the total area “ After about 20 or 30 minutes I was eventually checked out. My longest time ever in a check- out line ! When I quickly paid for my bill, I had trouble communicating with you supervisor, to get a cop of my receipt. I finally walked out after several attempts to get her attention. I would like to continue using your store, but this last experience has tried me to the limit of my patience,
