Metropolis at Metrotown, also known as Metrotown, is the largest shopping and entertainment complex in British Columbia situated in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. The mall is the third largest shopping and entertainment complex in Canada. The shopping centre at Metropolis at Metrotown is largely owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge. A large section of the property on the northeast corner fronting Kingsway and Nelson Avenue is owned by Sears Canada. Metropolis at Metrotown is located just 20 minutes southeast of downtown Vancouver and accessible by SkyTrain or a car. The Metrotown SkyTrain Station is at the mall, making it super-easy to reach by public transit. For drivers, there’s abundant free parking.
Metrotown Centre was first opened in 1986. The mall has been expanded and renovated several times. Two additional shopping centres were constructed adjacent to the original Metrotown—Eaton Centre and Station Square. These three different malls were connected by skyways. In 2005 , a major expansion project developed in one single megamall, name "Metropolis at Metrotown", with Western Canada's largest food court. Metropolis at Metrotown features more then 400 stores, ranging from housewares and discount grocery stores to all of the international and Canadian fashion brands. The mall welcomes 27 million customers annually. The anchors are Hudson's Bay, Sears, Toys "R" US, T&T Supermarket, H&M, Home Outfitters, Old Navy, Real Canadian Superstore, Urban Behavior, Winners/Home Sense, Zara and Cineplex.
It’s not only one of the busiest malls in the region but it’s the tastiest, too. Metropolis at Metrotown won first place in the best food court category of this year’s Golden Plate Awards. Metropolis at Metrotown is Family- and kid-friendly mall. There are plentiful family restrooms with changing tables and the mall frequently has events for kids. You can have fun at Metropolis Express, a miniature train that runs from the atrium in front of the Bay to the bus loop. For adults and kids over 12, the Metropolis Express is $1, for kids under 12 it’s free, and all proceeds go to charity. Metrotown Centre has a huge toy shop (Toys R Us) which children dream about at night. If your children like stuffed animals, take them to The Build-A-Bear Workshop. Metrotown Centre also has the last remaining Disney store in Vancouver. And if your kids get tired you can hop on the choo choo train that transports weary family members from one end of the mall to the other. Along with the shops, there’s the Famous Players SilverCity Cinema and a Grand Court that features live entertainment throughout the year.

I LIVE ON NELSON AVENUE RIGHT BESIDE METROTOWN MALL AND BECAUSE WALMART SELLS PRODUCT AT AFFORDABLE PRICES AND MAKES THEIR PROFIT IN VOLUME SALES WHILE SELLING THEIR OWN BRAND NAMES LIKE EQUATE TOOTHPASTE & GEORGE CLOTHING. WALMART BRANDS ARE ALWAYS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN CREST OR ARMANI AND THAT IS WALMART WILL ALWAYS SURVIVE METROTOWN MALLS EXPENSIVE LEASE FOR RENT !
