I’m a resident of central AB. Currently, I’m with my dying sister in a remote bush town in NW Ontario, (she has stage 4 Glioblastoma multiform brain cancer), & lost my cell phone on a remote bush road while I walked my dog. As a Rogers customer, I need to deal with Rogers for my replacement phone, but that does not exist in this bush town. I contacted my friend in Red Deer, he went to the Rogers store in Parkland Mall to help me get a replacement phone. The employee refused, said I need to add my friend & wait 30 days. I asked for a copy of the policy so that I can verify that is correct protocol & the Rogers employee became aggressive when I said I will go over it with a fine tooth comb, maybe take it to a lawyer. The employee then refused service & asked my friend to leave the store. I contacted Rogers wireless via phone, added my friend’s name & it was effective immediately. My friend went to another Rogers Wireless store, (Bower Mall), and got my replacement phone, no issues. I cannot help but suspect my friend was given a difficult race based on his skin colour, (not white). I am appalled over that employee’s behaviour & will be filing a complaint against him.
