In August of 2015 I left my diamond ring set at Michael Hill in Red Deer Bower Mall to be rhodium plated. When I returned to pick them up they had been sized instead. I also questioned the sales lady about the diamond looking smaller than I remembered. I asked her to read the engraved numbers on the diamond to be sure it was my original ring. She was very short with me and insisted she was not able too. The rings were sent back to be sized correctly and would return in a few weeks. I asked her to have the jeweller read the numbers on the diamond and write it down so I could check and be sure it was my original ring. When I returned, the rings were the correct size but I still questioned the sales lady about the size of the diamond and what the numbers were engraved on it. She again became frustrated with me and after paying for the rings to be rhodium plated I was sent on my way. Having no numbers to compare with my paperwork at home I became very frustrated! Over the course of the next few months friends and family continued to question me about the diamond I was wearing. It looked smaller than they remembered. Finally I booked an appointment for an appraisal for the ring I was wearing.( cost $70.00 ) He assured me the numbers on the ring I was wearing didn't match the numbers on the certificate of authenticity and the diamond i was wearing was half the carat size. Not only was it not my original ring but the ring i was wearing never had been rhodium plated. Frustrated with the customer service I received in Red Deer at the Michael Hill Store I decided to stopped in at the Michael Hill in Cross Iron Mills (where I originally bought the diamond set). After explaining my story to the store manager he took my information and promised to get back to me Friday with a solution. True to his word he called on Friday with a solution. Michael Hill in cross Iron Mills replaced my missing diamond ring with a new one of equal. After everything I have been through over the last few months the Michael Hill manager at Cross Iron Mills took excellent care of me. As for the people working at the Michael Hill Store in Bower Mall Red Deer...I'm still trying to get a refund on the money I paid to have my rings rhodium plated. You would think they would be more than happy to give me an apology along with a refund! To this date they continue to give me the run around.
