Never go back again | by Very Disappointed on Mar 04, 2018
I was at the Value Village recently looking for a shirt. I was told by one of the staff that the sale or 50 % off starts the following day for super card holders. Jokingly she said, " you might as well wait until tomorrow or hide it somewhere in the store" . So I thought, that sounds good and I might as well wait until tomorrow. So, I placed the item somewhere, with no malicious intent or anything. And continued to paid for the rest of the small items that night. The following day, the item I placed somewhere was put backed in the rack. One thing that I certainly noticed was that one of the staff ( either manager or prevention staff) followed me in every aisle that I went into and she (wearing black and short salt and pepper hair/ older lady). I wanted to ask her as to what seems to be the problem. It's different when you coincidentally run into each other, but every aisle and every move and everything that I looked at , I can feel and sense that she was watching me. It was very uncomfortable but and I really felt like confronting her but I did not want to make any scenes as I am not a confrontational type of person, nor am I a thief. Btw, I found the item I wanted and bought probably almost $40 (that's with the 50 % off ) . I paid for everything I had in my cart and low and behold she was also at the till several times with the cashier. I really felt bad for myself because she really made me feel bad but I shouldn't because I did not do anything wrong. I'd been to this store a few times and one item I was buying before from them (and I did not realize this until I was paying for it in the till) it had what it looks a mice have been nesting in it. There was so much mice droppings. I asked for a discount as I could easily clean it off and was given $4 off from $15 after about 15 minutes. Anyway, to go back to my original story, the cashier made duplicates of my receipts and placed it on the counter beside her and wrote something on it and the lady in black reviewed it. Then when my transaction was finished, I left the store. I have donated so much with Value Village from clothings to furniture and I never again will I donate anything. I have spent hundreds of dollars in this store in the past that I felt betrayed. I will definitely continue to support other thrift stores, but not V V or any other branches. It was a very humiliating experience. But still, after all that I went through, I still wish you well as some of the staff are quite friendly
