I went in twice in one week and both times, no one spoke with me. The first time, I got my daughter some runners. The pair were the wrong size, they did not match. They treated me like I did something wrong at the cash desk. No one went to find the pair. I had to go back to the shoe department and get it myself. My daughter wore them once, and the sole fell apart. I went back a week later, found a new pair, by myself again. Then when I went up to the cash desk, the clerk started to judge and interrogate me, saying that it looked like the shoes were worn more than once and that my daughter is hard on her shoes. Well within the return policy with receipt, I still got a run around, even with a perfectly good reason. Well, if we had any customer service at the time of choosing, we might have chosen a shoe that was more for her purpose, or the shoe is faulty. Either way, I should not be their R & D and treated like the shoe was the clerk's personal bread and butter, no matter what the store's internal policy is on asking questions due to the probability of their desire to reduce loss. I used to work retail, and it was through customer service, that reduced loss, not an inquisition at the point of sale or exchange. I have always disliked my shopping experience at Sport Chek, however, I had such a wonderful experience at their sister store Mark's Work Warehouse at Sunridge Mall, where I signed up for a credit card, and ended up buying an additional $200 coat I had no intention buying, to go with the $35 rainboots, I initially came in to buy, all because of great customer service. When I was told that Sport Chek was part of the triangle points card, when I needed shoes, I was excited to try again at Sport Chek. Well, dismal fail, yet again, Sport Chek. Dismal fail, not once but twice.
