Disappointed customer | by Sharon Dramalis on Jun 15, 2023
My husband George, received a $65.00 gift card in the mail, which expires on June 18th but the store won't be open until the grand opening on June 25th. What gives?? My husband, my son and I shop at Tommy Bahama often, so all 3 of us usually get the gift cards, however only George got one this time. Why is that?

We had received a $65 gift card expiring Jun 21, however when received, due to the COVID pandemic all stores closed. We are Seniors and our outings are very limited, and we are not big on-line shoppers! We have always been big supporters of TB since visiting Maui HI back in 2003 with regular annual vacations since then. We were very excited when TB opened in Calgary. With this pandemic it limited our outings. We were able to determine a day so we could head over to Chinook which was Jun 25th (week day thinking mall and stores would no be so busy) and assuming in lieu of the current situation the card would still be valid. So, we shopped in the store and my husband found a couple of items costing $235.00 + (Partly assuming the gift card would be okay) However, to my surprise and more disappointment we were told a flat out no! We have over the years spent a fair amount of money in TB and have recommended out then positive experiences to many of our friends, who I might add are now shopping there as well! We will probably return to TB but I needed to express my disappointment !!

I would have liked to see Chinook Tommy Bahama open in a social distancing manner so that the customers who like to shop there could have. Shopping on line just means paying American prices.
